Justification: (Why? Non-technical
business case description. Do not reword Detailed Problem
Description from above. What are the benefits to be gained by your
company, and the vendor and others?
Quantify: run time, dollars, manpower, etc. Why should the vendor do this for the customer?)
FAVER2 is used
for all backup functions with VSAM/EPIC/SD files. Without this function, a separate product must be used to backup
SNAPPED VSAM files. SNAPPED VSAM CATALOGs allow for backups while the source
catalog is being processed.
Solution: (Optional)(Desired/undesired elements Note: Making a suggestion may limit a
vendors ability to deliver a solution)
SNAP catalog
backups are available via IDCAMS BACKUP.
FAVER2 should be able to support all functions IDCAMS and VSAM have
available.
Impact: (Optional) (How
will your company’s business be affected if a solution is not delivered?)
A separate
solution will have to be found for all SNAPPED VSAM Catalogs or cycle batch
times will have to be extended.
