access to LIBR members
Detailed
Problem Description: (Description of what you want changed - 400 character entry limit)
The ability to read, write
and replace LIBR members from a CICS program. (Read is a much higher need that
write or replace.) Currently, there only programmatic way to access LIBR is via
assembler macros that are not usable in CICS.

Business
Justification: (Why? Non-technical
business case description. Do not reword Detailed Problem
Description from above. What are the benefits to be gained by your
company, and the vendor and others?
Quantify: run time, dollars, manpower, etc. Why should the vendor do this for the customer?)
LIBR is the best place to store graphics and
other non-EBCDIC web information yet it is not easily available to a CICS
program. z/OS provides the ability to access PDS's for similar functions.
Solution: (Optional)(Desired/undesired elements Note: Making a suggestion may limit a
vendors ability to deliver a solution)
Provide new EXEC CICS |READ|WRITE|DELETE| LIBR
commands. Provide for both standard and 'string' members.
Impact: (Optional) (How
will your company’s business be affected if a solution is not delivered?)
My company would use this feature at multiple
customer sites to web server PDF documents stored as ASCII LIBR members.
