Title: (Paraphrase problem in a
single statement)Option to turn off
redirected files in batch jobs
Detailed
Problem Description: (Description of what you want changed - 400 character entry limit)
Currently we have many jobs
which use files which are being redirected by VSAM redirector. There are
situations in our batch jobs where we want to redirect some records from batch
but not other records from batch. The only way we can do this is to run in
specific partitions or change the DLBL names in many job streams. (ie: Updates
only from batch, not CICS).

Ease of Use.
Business
Justification: (Why? Non-technical
business case description. Do not reword Detailed Problem
Description from above. What are the benefits to be gained by your
company, and the vendor and others?
Quantify: run time, dollars, manpower, etc. Why should the vendor do this for the customer?)
We would be saving a great deal of time an
effort by development staff of making sure that the correct records get to the
redirected files. This would also allow us greater flexibility in how we use
redirector as well as how much we use redirected files.
Solution: (Optional)(Desired/undesired elements Note: Making a suggestion may limit a
vendors ability to deliver a solution)
Please have an option to where we can specify
that we want redirector turned off and back on(default would be on) at certain
times in job streams.
Impact: (Optional) (How
will your company’s business be affected if a solution is not delivered?)
