Compatibility/Migration

Business Justification: (Why? Non-technical business case description. Do not reword Detailed Problem Description from above. What are the benefits to be gained by your company, and the vendor and others?  Quantify: run time, dollars, manpower, etc.   Why should the vendor do this for the customer?)

Effective migration from CA-Space/Manager requires that CA-DYNAM/D support the processing of VSAM datasets where the VSAM catalog ID (DLBL) is contained in the CA-Space/Manager catalog and is not specified in the user JCL.

Solution: (Optional)(Desired/undesired elements Note: Making a suggestion may limit a vendors ability to deliver a solution)

The technical details of a possible solution are too extensive for the available space, but may be discussed separately, if desired.

Impact: (Optional) (How will your company’s business be affected if a solution is not delivered?)

Customers will continue to defer migration from CA-Space/Manager to CA-DYNAM/D or will consider solutions offered by other vendors.
