WAVV Requirement Form[Informati1]

Date: 05/02/2007                                          Requirement #:  WAVV200712

Product Name:           DIRMAINT        Product Release# (or state “current”): current

Vendor Name:           IBM

Title: (Paraphrase problem in a single statement)Provide exits for SFS integration

Detailed Problem Description: (Description of what you want changed - 400 character entry limit)

Currently, DIRMAINT does not perform any integration with SFS, causing users to need additional external processes to enable SFS use for CMS users. The need is to allow sites to specify SFS pools and registration/security policy information as part of CP directory maintenance activities.

Priority: (Select one: Urgent - High - Medium - Low) Medium

Requested Completion Date: (When? Examples: 3 months, 1 year, Next Release) Next Release

Requirement Type: (Select one: Acceptability - Compatibility/Migration - Ease of Use - Feature/Function - Performance - Reliability/Availability/Serviceability - Packaging - Interoperability)

Ease of Use

Business Justification: (Why? Non-technical business case description. Do not reword Detailed Problem Description from above. What are the benefits to be gained by your company, and the vendor and others?  Quantify: run time, dollars, manpower, etc.   Why should the vendor do this for the customer?)

Current implementation essentially requires the acquisition of a 3rd party product to manage SFS usage. The additional cost of this product essentially negates substantial portions of the price improvements to VM and the adoption of SFS for any significant use.

Solution: (Optional)(Desired/undesired elements Note: Making a suggestion may limit a vendors ability to deliver a solution)

Provide exits in DIRMAINT similar to the ones used for RACF integration to handle SFS user registration/deregistration and initial security policy settings (eg basic sets of GRANTs)

Impact: (Optional) (How will your company’s business be affected if a solution is not delivered?)

Continue to use homebrew user management tools, and continue to recommend to customers to avoid SFS
