Vendor Name:     IBM

Title: (Paraphrase problem in a single statement)eliminate 24 bit table upon Open or Close

Detailed Problem Description: (Description of what you want changed - 400 character entry limit)

We have 5 CICS of at least 350 to 400 vsam files. We cannot open all files at once due to the tables that CICS builds while opening these files. They all reside below the line.

This becomes a problem for us because we have to break our files into multiple CICS, which causes our users to know what session to go into and worse a user has multiple sessions because they need access to all files.

Priority: (Select one: Urgent - High - Medium - Low) high

Requested Completion Date: (When? Examples: 3 months, 1 year, Next Release) NEXT RELEASE

EASE OF USE

Business Justification: (Why? Non-technical business case description. Do not reword Detailed Problem Description from above. What are the benefits to be gained by your company, and the vendor and others?  Quantify: run time, dollars, manpower, etc.   Why should the vendor do this for the customer?)

This is a weakness in C ICS and all of our users who need the multiple access are concerned. This causes training issues and can be in the hospital world 'life thretening'.

Solution: (Optional)(Desired/undesired elements Note: Making a suggestion may limit a vendors ability to deliver a solution)

Have CICS tables put above the line in 31 bit storage.

Impact: (Optional) (How will your company’s business be affected if a solution is not delivered?)

Our training has to more intensive, to help alleviate accessing wrong hospital data.
