Retention of applications in VM/VSE
environment, elimination of specialized print hardware for mainframe support,
compatibility and interoperability with wider range of printing devices from
multiple manufacturers, rapid decrease in LPR/LPD support from distributed
systems vendors. Estimated savings of $300-500/printer in support costs if
native IPP support were present. (further discussion avail)
