Title: (Paraphrase problem in a
single statement)change volsers while doing a
VM flashcopy
Detailed
Problem Description: (Description of what you want changed - 400 character entry limit)
I would like to be able to
change the volser of a target volume during a VM flashcopy. When I flash 0-end,
I end up with duplicate volsers. I can
label the target something unique and flash 1-end, but then I will lose
information in cylinder 0. A new output
volser parm at the end of the flashcopy command could accomplish this.

Justification: (Why? Non-technical
business case description. Do not reword Detailed Problem
Description from above. What are the benefits to be gained by your
company, and the vendor and others?
Quantify: run time, dollars, manpower, etc. Why should the vendor do this for the customer?)
Having the option of relabeling the target
volume would eliminate several steps and potential for labelling a volume wrong
or taking the wrong volume offline. The
flashcopy process is great but the setup and procedures required to use it can
be cumbersome. Recovering a flashed volume would be enhanced by just reversing
the process.
Solution: (Optional)(Desired/undesired elements Note: Making a suggestion may limit a
vendors ability to deliver a solution)
Impact: (Optional) (How
will your company’s business be affected if a solution is not delivered?)
