Title: (Paraphrase problem in a
single statement)Documentation updates not in
page format in Product Update Packets
Detailed
Problem Description: (Description of what you want changed - 400 character entry limit)
CA manuals are in PDF format
or IBM Soft Copy Reader format. The
Product Information Packets (PIP) are either printed or in PDF format. The documentation updates in the PIP are not
in any format that can be printed out and then inserted/replace manual pages in
the printed version of the manuals.
Trying to cut and paste manual page updates is messy, frustrating and a
waste of time.

Justification: (Why? Non-technical
business case description. Do not reword Detailed Problem
Description from above. What are the benefits to be gained by your
company, and the vendor and others?
Quantify: run time, dollars, manpower, etc. Why should the vendor do this for the customer?)
Manuals in PDF or IBM Soft Copy Reader format
are inaccurate if updates are in the PIP because they can not be updated. Printed versions of the manual are also
inaccurate because the mechanism for updating them no longer exists (as it had
in the past). Trying to correlate
changes between the PIP and the Getting Started/Installation manuals is time
consuming and is error prone.
Solution: (Optional)(Desired/undesired elements Note: Making a suggestion may limit a
vendors ability to deliver a solution)
Format any documentation updates in the PIP to
be in page replacement format so that the printed versions of manuals may be
updated.
Impact: (Optional) (How
will your company’s business be affected if a solution is not delivered?)
