WAVV Requirement Form

Date: 3/7/2006                                             Requirement #:  WAVV200607

Product Name:    CICS/TS      Product Release# (or state “current”): All

Vendor Name:     IBM

Title: (Paraphrase problem in a single statement)Error-Message in the case of Transaction -abends in CWS

Detailed Problem Description: (Description of what you want changed - 400 character entry limit)

A message "500 Internal Server Error" is insufficient.  For the VSE world (with IUI and OLPD) end-users, programmers, supporters are surprised how little information is supplied in the case of ABEND codes under CICS/Web.

Priority: (Select one: Urgent - High - Medium - Low) Medium

Requested Completion Date: (When? Examples: 3 months, 1 year, Next Release) Small Programming Enhancement PTF

Requirement Type: (Select one: Acceptability - Compatibility/Migration - Ease of Use - Feature/Function - Performance - Reliability/Availability/Serviceability - Packaging - Interoperability)

Ease of Use

Business Justification: (Why? Non-technical business case description. Do not reword Detailed Problem Description from above. What are the benefits to be gained by your company, and the vendor and others?  Quantify: run time, dollars, manpower, etc.   Why should the vendor do this for the customer?)

Avoid unnecessary work in recreating and analyzing the problem

Solution: (Optional)(Desired/undesired elements Note: Making a suggestion may limit a vendors ability to deliver a solution)

Make the participating programs web-aware and give the same information as the "old-style" 3270-users get.  The current implementation is only acceptable with the appropriate extra software (which is the case in most z/OS shops). At least provide a message on SYSLST.

Impact: (Optional) (How will your company’s business be affected if a solution is not delivered?)

Major - as it is sometimes difficult or impossible to recreate the problem
