Requirement Form

Title: (Paraphrase problem in a
single statement)Add timestamps to ARIDBS
SYSLST output.
Detailed
Problem Description: (Description of what you want changed - 400 character entry limit)
ARIDBS generates a timestamp
*only* during startup and finish. For long running maintenance jobs, this makes
it difficult to determine when certain events occurred during a single
execution of ARIDBS.
Priority: (Select one: Urgent
- High - Medium - Low)

Ease of Use
Business
Justification: (Why? Non-technical
business case description. Do not reword Detailed Problem
Description from above. What are the benefits to be gained by your
company, and the vendor and others?
Quantify: run time, dollars, manpower, etc. Why should the vendor do this for the customer?)
ARIDBS generates a timestamp only during
startup and finish. For long-running maintenance jobs (like huge table reorgs
that I have that require 2+ days to run) it is very difficult to determine when
certain things occurred within the single ARIDBS job step.
Solution: (Optional)(Desired/undesired elements Note: Making a suggestion may limit a
vendors ability to deliver a solution)
Preface each significant line of output to
SYSLST with a timestamp (date and time). (See BSI/IP-Tools or VSE2PDF output
logs for good examples)
Impact: (Optional) (How
will your company’s business be affected if a solution is not delivered?)
Will make output from large table reorgs much
more clear. Will help in planning for future similar events.
