CICS no longer supports DL/1 file status checking via CEMT or CSMT such as "CEMT I DA DLI" and wildcard "CEMT I DA (Z*)".  This function was not carried forward in the new CICS/TS product.  No file information for any DLI files defined to CICS/TS can be displayed via any CEMT or CSMT commands.

Feature/Function

Business Justification: (Why? Non-technical business case description. Do not reword Detailed Problem Description from above. What are the benefits to be gained by your company, and the vendor and others?  Quantify: run time, dollars, manpower, etc.   Why should the vendor do this for the customer?)

This CICS function would allow any user to easily determine the current file status of a DL/1 database via the normal "CEMT I FILE" commands.  Without this function, a special CICS exit with DL/1 code has to be customized for each DL/1 database and all of it's secondary indexes.  With each DL/1 database change, this special exit has to be updated.

Solution: (Optional)(Desired/undesired elements Note: Making a suggestion may limit a vendors ability to deliver a solution)

Add this function to CICS/TS or DL-1. It was has been present in every prior release of CICS. A non-CEMT transaction will be acceptable.

Impact: (Optional) (How will your company’s business be affected if a solution is not delivered?)
