Title: (Paraphrase problem in a
single statement)Provide the ability to query
the status of system files
Detailed
Problem Description: (Description of what you want changed - 400 character entry limit)
It would be very helpful to
be able to query the status of system files (hardcopy, recorder, history, etc.) from the console.
Even though the system will warn when any of these fills up, it would be better
if their status could be queried at any point in time.

Business
Justification: (Why? Non-technical
business case description. Do not reword Detailed Problem
Description from above. What are the benefits to be gained by your
company, and the vendor and others?
Quantify: run time, dollars, manpower, etc. Why should the vendor do this for the customer?)
Without AO software, the SysProg is pretty much
at the mercy of the system (and the availability of an operator) when any of
the system files fills up. If it happens, it usually happens at the worst
possible time. Being able to query the status of these files would make
managing the system much easier.
Solution: (Optional)(Desired/undesired elements Note: Making a suggestion may limit a
vendors ability to deliver a solution)
Provide a console command (AR?) to display the
status info of system files (hardcopy, recorder, history, etc.). Show filename,
filesize, file location and percent full. It could be similar to POWER's
"D Q" command.
Impact: (Optional) (How
will your company’s business be affected if a solution is not delivered?)
Being able to query VSE about things like this
makes it easier to use and simpler to manage.
