WAVV Requirement Form

Date: 4/23/2003                                           Requirement #:  WAVV200322

Product Name:    TCPIP          Product Release# (or state “current”): 1.4 E

Vendor Name:     CSI

Title: (Paraphrase problem in a single statement)Allow AUTOFTP to process the same class across multiple VSEs

Detailed Problem Description: (Description of what you want changed - 400 character entry limit)

We run multiple VSEs sharing the VSE/Power queues.  We run a separate TCPIP server job on each VSE, each having a unique IP address.  Because of TCPIP storage limitations we limit the number of daemons to 5 per VSE.  This limits us to 5 AUTOFTP's per Power class because AUTOFTP doesn't work when tring to pull from the same class from different VSEs.  Multiple VSEs try to process the same report.

Priority: (Select one: Urgent - High - Medium - Low) High

Requested Completion Date: (When? Examples: 3 months, 1 year, Next Release) 3 mos

Requirement Type: (Select one: Acceptability - Compatibility/Migration - Ease of Use - Feature/Function - Performance - Reliability/Availability/Serviceability - Packaging - Interoperability)

Performance

Business Justification: (Why? Non-technical business case description. Do not reword Detailed Problem Description from above. What are the benefits to be gained by your company, and the vendor and others?  Quantify: run time, dollars, manpower, etc.   Why should the vendor do this for the customer?)

To allow more concurrent AUTOFTP transfers to occur - all pulling from the same VSE/Power class which is dedicated just for AUTOFTP usage.

Solution: (Optional)(Desired/undesired elements Note: Making a suggestion may limit a vendors ability to deliver a solution)

Code AUTOFTP to used standard GENERIC GET PWRSPL macros to process next available queue entries.

Impact: (Optional) (How will your company’s business be affected if a solution is not delivered?)

We will either have to find available Power classes (not easy for us) or use AUTOFTP to deliver the reports to an intermediate FTP server on our LAN for distribution to our multiple clients.
