WAVV Requirement Form

Date: 3/22/2002                                           Requirement #:  WAVV200249

Product Name:    TCP/IP         Product Release#: 1.4.0

Vendor Name:     Connectivity Systems Inc.

Title: (Paraphrase problem in a single statement)&CURTIME is not current

Detailed Problem Description: (Description of what you want changed - 400 character entry limit)

The FTP variable &CURTIME reflects the time when the handler is initiated, not the time when the SETVAR is executed.  When two reports are to be FTP'd from the same job and the CURTIME value is used to build a unique file name for the outbound file, duplicates are built.

Priority: (Select one: Urgent - High - Medium - Low) High

Requested Completion Date: (When? Examples: 3 months, 1 year, Next Release) now

Requirement Type: (Select one: Acceptability - Compatibility/Migration - Ease of Use - Feature/Function - Performance - Reliability/Availability/Serviceability - Packaging - Interoperability)

Feature/Function

Business Justification: (Why? Non-technical business case description. Do not reword Detailed Problem Description from above. What are the benefits to be gained by your company, and the vendor and others?  Quantify: run time, dollars, manpower, etc.   Why should the vendor do this for the customer?)

AUTOFTP scripts with unique &CURTIME values would allow for more robust applications.  We are FTPing VSE reports as PDF files to a VM SFS pool.  The user can then retrieve their reports via there favorite browser and print at their discretion.  Generating unique file names would allow for additional automation of the process.

Solution: (Optional)(Desired/undesired elements Note: Making a suggestion may limit a vendors ability to deliver a solution)

Change the processing of &CURTIME so that it is set at SETVAR time instead of the invocation of the script.

Impact: (Optional) (How will your company’s business be affected if a solution is not delivered?)
