Title: (Paraphrase problem in a
single statement)Provide all IBM mainframe
software documentation in PDF format.
Detailed
Problem Description: (Description of what you want changed - 400 character entry limit)
We, like many shops, are
storing documentation (both internal and vendor supplied) in PDF format and
making it available on our network to any user that needs it. Only a portion of
the VSE manuals can be available, because not all are supplied as PDFs.

Business
Justification: (Why? Non-technical
business case description. Do not reword Detailed Problem
Description from above. What are the benefits to be gained by your
company, and the vendor and others?
Quantify: run time, dollars, manpower, etc. Why should the vendor do this for the customer?)
Currently, in each release of the VSE
Collection CD, ALL of the books are available in BookManager format while only
a select few are available as PDF. I was told the reason is that IBM has not
made it a requirement for all divisions to produce PDFs as well - it is somewhat
voluntary. Adobe is becoming the standard for documentation. IBM should adopt
this as well.
Solution: (Optional)(Desired/undesired elements Note: Making a suggestion may limit a
vendors ability to deliver a solution)
Provide ALL the books in PDF format as well as
BookManager format.
Impact: (Optional) (How
will your company’s business be affected if a solution is not delivered?)
It will make life easier for all of us by
having all the documentation available in the same format.
