Title: (Paraphrase problem in a
single statement)PRODEXIT BAM PREOPEN NO SUPPORT FOR IOREG
Detailed
Problem Description: (Description of what you want changed - 400 character entry limit)
The current
implementation of PRE-OPEN PRODEXIT does not allow setting of an IOREG. It is
therefore impossible to bypass IBMs OPEN-PROCESSING if invoker of OPEN has
specified IOREG=xx in his/her DTFxx.

Business
Justification: (Why? Non-technical
business case description. Do not reword Detailed Problem
Description from above. What are the benefits to be gained by your
company, and the vendor and others?
Quantify: run time, dollars, manpower, etc. Why should the vendor do this for the customer?)
A clear
interface is superior to any fiddleing with control-blocks and/or saveareas (as
$$BOPEN does it when setting the IOREG). The way open does it right now is not
an option since there is no partition-save-area in use for the partition and an
LTA from which you can change it.
Solution: (Optional)(Desired/undesired elements Note: Making a suggestion may limit a
vendors ability to deliver a solution)
Provide an
extra field where BAM-PREOPEN-EXIT can return a value that it would like the
IOREG to receive. Maybe with a flag that there is data
Impact: (Optional) (How
will your company’s business be affected if a solution is not delivered?)
Control-block-fiddling
is the only alternative
