get a 0J20I DEVICE RECOGNITION IN PROGRESS and then possibly a 0510I IPL
RESTART POINT BYPASSED. If any of your devices are down for repair or offline,
the IPL will hang and you have to figure out which device is the problem.
Sometimes the device is under repair and can't be brought ONLINE.

Justification: (Why? Non-technical
business case description. Do not reword Detailed Problem
Description from above. What are the benefits to be gained by your
company, and the vendor and others?
Quantify: run time, dollars, manpower, etc. Why should the vendor do this for the customer?)
Having an IPL hang for a downed device is not
acceptable. This causes more downtime during an IPL that may have already
occurred during a busy business day. The company is basically shutdown till the
system is brought up.
Solution: (Optional)(Desired/undesired elements Note: Making a suggestion may limit a
vendors ability to deliver a solution)
Do not hang the IPL for device sensing. Put out
a message and continue.
Impact: (Optional) (How
will your company’s business be affected if a solution is not delivered?)
More downtime during emergency IPL's . This
means that the company is unable to process information for longer periods of
time. This is not good for business.
