Currently there is no capability within VSE to update the labels for jobs in progress (unless they use standard labels).   Long-running systems tasks like CICS, POWER, etc.) must be cycled just to change the files that they use,  even though many have facilities to open and close files while they remain up.

Such a capability would eliminate the down time now required to implement file changes, which can be significant.  The requirements for up time are constantly increasing.

ASAP

Impact :    (How?   How will your company’s business be affected if a solution is not delivered.)

We will have to continue to bounce system tasks to make file changes, which may actually increasd down time due to the proliferation of new systems tasks, servers, etc.
