Title : VSE Declaration Generation
(Short description of what you want the
product changed to - include keywords like function, short product name)
Statement of
the Problem : (What? Detailed description of what you want
changed, 400 char.limit)
When creating tables for
DB/2 for VSE/VM, the DBA must create copybooks for COBOL manually that must
match the new table. If the table
characteristics need to be modified, then the copybook must be changed
accordingly and all programs that reference that table must be recompiled. In OS/390, the table characteristics are
determined automatically at execution time, with no recompiles.

benefit the submitter’s your company, and the vendor
and others? Business case
and benefits to users and vendor which can to
justify the needed change?. Quantify: run time, dollars, manpower, etc. Also, wWhy
should is it important
for vendor to want to do this for their
customer?s)
Obviously, when any maintenance is required to
tables, and the DBA must ensure compatabilitycompatibility between copybooks and tables,
then the more tables you have the more maintenance is required!
