In the new releases of VSE many more phases are becoming eligible for the 31-bit SVA. Each one requiers an entry in the SDL. We are starting to run out of entries in the SDL.

Benefit :    (Why?  Non-technical business case description, i.e a business case. Do not reword problem statement above. How do you to justify the needed change?  Wwill itrequest benefit the submitter’s your company, and the vendor and others? Business case and benefits to users and vendor which can to justify the needed change?.  Quantify: run time, dollars, manpower, etc. Also, wWhy should is it important for vendor to want to do this for their customer?s)

To improve performance phases are loaded in the SVA or the new 31-bit SVA. As each new release of VSE has more phases that can be in the 31-bit SVA keeping the limit of 1021 entries in the SDL becomes harder. Removing the limit or finding some other way of not needing an entry in the SDL for each phase will make system tuning quicker.

Date :       (When?  ASAP, 6 months, one year from now, etc)

Within 6 months.

Impact :    (How?   How will your company’s business be affected if a solution is not delivered.)

System programerprogrammer time will be wasted trying to pick out which 1021  phases will improve the performance the most.  Performance will be slower than if all the phases that should be in the SVA were loaded.

Solution :  (optional desired / undesired elements Note: suggest can limit vendor ability to deliver a solution)

Increase the size of the SDL table.

Classification :  (Suggestion=Nice Idea, Long Range=Future, Tactical=ASAP, or Acceptability=I won’t buy the product or will drop the product if solution not provided)
