Provide more sufficient enhancement
to DB2 for VM & VSE such that it earns the name Universal Database. DB2 UDB for VM & VSE should contain the majority of the features and functions
of UDB on
other platforms. These features should
include, but not be limited to, SQL92+ style SQL language
commands and
functions
and full
compatibility with the DB2 UDB control center. The existing SQL language support in DB2 for VM & VSE is a
nice initial step, but does not compare favorably to other database products.
This lack of language support could have a tendency to make DB2 for VM and VSE
look archaic and/or stagnant. Hardly
the type of product that would attract e-business.
