During the archive process,
DB2 currently asks for the
operator to mount a tape and to indicate on which

all cases is
undesirable.

justify the needed change?. Quantify: run time, dollars, manpower, etc. Also, wWhy

more 'polished' look for DB2 for VM & VSE

affected if a solution is not
delivered.)
Extra operator intervention
Solution : (optional desired / undesired elements Note: suggest can limit vendor ability to deliver a solution)
A DB2/VSE
startup option that indicates that the customer uses a tape
manager and
bypasses the previous messages and simply opens the tape
file. The tape manager will intercept the open and
process the tape
normally.
