Unlike LISTDIR, the Libr

We wish to request a generic functionality for
DELETE (similar to COPY) which
can be used in conjunction with a date range
(similar to LISTDIR). Example:

(delete all phases beginning with MATCH cataloged/updated in 1999.

Enormous
reduction in time required to do library maintenance. We have
specialized
application packages that catalog tens of thousands of members to our
libraries each
year. These members have a short but
critical life span. Deleting them
requires a
time consuming amount of manipulation of LISTDIR output. Programmer time would fall from hours to
minutes (2 orders of magnitude reduction).
Date : (When? ASAP, 6 months, one year from now, etc)
next release
Impact : (How? How will your company’s business be

Save costly programmer time - permit more
efficient use of human and machine resources.
